Multiple energy levels &
 specific adjustments

The unique internal design approach allows not only for multiple energy levels, but also for specific adjustment of the pulse slope rise and fall time as well as an active drop compensation.

Features that are currently only available for the price of an additional Pulse Forming Network (PFN) are both integrated and actively programmable on a per-pulse setting at rates of more than 1200 times per second (1200 Hz ), in H&P Advanced Technology’s high voltage pulse modulators.

This allows the use of a wide range of different e.g. magnetrons, klystrons in an unprecedented way, and is opening doors for new applications.

High voltage pulse modulators developed by H&P Advanced Technology GmbH combine all features within one device (multi-energy and pulse length adjustable from pulse to pulse) which offers the customer a variety of features.

Multi-energy provides more data for an effective material discrimination (density and Z-effective number calculation), better cancer treatment procedures (OCS-Systems), radars with unprecedented features and functions.

Deliver precise doses to tumors of the lung, brain, spine, and other areas of the body where radiation is indicated.

Sterilisation of medical articles by electron irradiation (E-Beam) is one of the safest and most efficient processes, which not only render all forms of bacteria, but also viruses, plasmids, spores and DNA fragments as well as spores and DNA fragments are rendered biologically ineffective. High-energy beams ensure uniform penetration and continuous sterilisation of the product, while the short irradiation times ensure favourable material compatibility.

National security initiatives call for automated detection with the ability to locate concealed high Z-materials and demonstrate a greatly improved false-positive/false-negative rate. Additional capabilities may also include the ability to identify an object’s specific elemental and isotopic composition, so as to reveal the presence of hidden explosives and drugs, or to discern between dangerous and benign isotopes.

Material discrimination:
Different types of materials can be shown with different colours (density and Z-effective number calculation).

Nutrition – Food Processing

X-rays for food serve several purposes including sanitary measures such as prevention of foodborne illness, phytosanitary measures such as insect/pest control (SIT) or shelf-life extension. Compared with traditional heat processes, X-ray’s cold treatment reduces impact on vitamin content and there is no chemical or radioactive material involved during the process.
